We are on the right path toward advancing gender equality in sport—bridging the pay gap, focussing on development and  the meaningful participation of ALL women and girls in sports.

We pride ourselves in leaving no one behind and ensuring that our constitution is realised for ALL women and girls, from skills development, education, financial inclusion, and leadership opportunities in sport.

One day at a time, we shall thrive, together!

WHO WE ARE

The BOLD Global Alliance for Women, Girls & Sport (BOLD) is a transformative and intersectional movement born to unite global efforts and resources to advance the health, rights and empowerment of women and girls through physical education, physical activity and sport (PEPAS). BOLD operates as a global coordination and partnership platform, convening stakeholders across sectors and facilitating policy dialogue, resource mobilisation and technical collaboration from its Geneva base.

OUR WHY

Despite widespread recognition of PEPAS as a powerful tool for advancing social, health and gender justice, efforts remain chronically fragmented, siloed, under-resourced, uncoordinated and too often slow to shift from rhetoric to action – leaving its immense potential untapped. While sport has the power to enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being, build confidence, and strengthen leadership skills among women and girls, these benefits remain inaccessible to many – especially those from marginalised communities – due to a lack of sustained investment, inclusive access and safe spaces. As a result, grassroots and community-based organisations, which are closest to the needs and realities on the ground, continue to be under-engaged and underfunded, bearing the greatest burden of these systemic inequalities and fragmentation.

OUR BOLD VISION

Through intentional, multi-sectoral partnerships and an unwavering commitment to intersectionality, BOLD bridges gaps, builds lasting synergies and drives a collective agenda. We unite governments, UN agencies, development partners, sports organizations, academia, the private sector and civil society—bound by shared hope, responsibility and purpose.

The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up. Make sure you’re very courageous: Be strong, be extremely kind and above all, be humble.
